Stump Watch for June 2011

As May turns into June and the hard wickets of July and August follow, all batsmen worthy of the name will make runs, for high summer is the batsman’s delight and all Nature gives him assistance.  That is why youth perseveres; that is why today’s failures are borne as patiently as may be “I did not score today, but later in the season there will come a time …” – J.M.
